Barnoldswick Town 1 v Lancaster
City 1
This was a tougher test but one that
Town met with a relish. Both teams enjoying supremacy at various
stages of the match without really testing the two goalkeepers.
Once again the pace of the game was high and there was some good
football for the large crowd to enjoy.
Town took the lead in the 61st minute when Spencer Jordan once again
ghosted into space around the 6 yard area and forced the ball home.
Lancaster replied in the 76th minute when there No. 10 fired in a
great shot from the corner of the Town penalty area into the far
corner.

Todmorden Borough 0 v Barnoldswick
Town 4
Town keep their unbeaten run as they
easily beat Todmorden, but for the brilliant goalkeeping of the
Todmorden keeper the score would surely have been nearer to double
figures.
Town's goals were scored by Lewis Jordan, Liam Garbutt 2 & young
Tom Halliwell making his first appearance for the 1st team.

Yorkshire Amateur 3 v Barnoldswick Town 4
Not the best preparation for a match when half the team didn't arrive until 15 mins before the scheduled start through various reasons, the game kicking off at 3:15 pm.
Anyway the match started similar to last Saturday at Abbey Hey, at a brisk pace.
In fact the first goal after 11 minutes was very similar to the opening goal at Abbey Hey, the 'Ammers' No. 2 found himself in acres of space just outside the left hand side of the Town penalty area and tried his luck, Alex Woodcock deputising in the Town goal for Billy Carrington who had a mouth abscess, seemed to dive very late the ball going in at the far post across his despairing dive. Town levelled two minutes later when Paul Barrett comfortably slotted home a penalty.
Town took the lead after 52 minutes when Barrett was put in just inside the 'Ammers penalty area, his shot across the keeper was too fierce and he could only palm the ball inside the far corner.
The 'Ammers' equalised four minutes later when they won a penalty. Town regained the lead after 70 mins when skipper Russell Clarke took the ball from the edge of his own penalty area played a one two and from just inside the penalty area pulled the ball back, Robert Grimes latched onto it and curled a magnificent shot wide of the keeper into the far corner.
Not to be out done the 'Ammers' equalised again after 79 mins, a shot at goal from halfway inside the Town half caught the keeper off his line, the ball ending up in the back of the net. To be fair with the 'Ammers' player he did look up before shooting.
With the game looking like a draw Lewis Jordan played a great ball through the heart of the 'Ammers' defence for his brother Spencer to run onto and slot into the net with 2 minutes left on the clock.
Another good workout against a very good side, very competitive match, just what is required from a pre-season friendly.
Barnoldswick Town Res 2 v Guiseley Res 3
This again was a good workout, goals from Matt Coates & Damon Clark unable to bring the win.

Nelson Resign From The League
It is with regret we have to report that Nelson FC has resigned from the Vodkat League.
The news was relayed to League Secretary John Deal in a statement from Nelson Chairman and Managing Director Alan Pickering and reads as follows.
"It is with much sadness and regret that I have to inform you that the club resigns its position as a member of the Vodkat League.
Over the past few seasons the club has struggled to continue, particularly financially. Combined with a paucity of officials, sponsors, volunteers and spiralling costs, the decision to with draw the team has been made.
Attempts to sell the club have been unsuccessful so far, despite many meetings and negotiations, but that position remains.
I would like to express my thanks to the member clubs, and in particular the League Management Committee, for the support and co-operation over the years, and extend my best wishes for the future to all".
A further statement from the League regarding the constitution of the Premier and First Divisions for season 2010-11 will be made in due course.
